MUMBAI: For the first time in India, two television series premiered on the Internet first before they were aired on television.
On 5 August, 2009, two Star Plus shows, Aap Ki Kachehri (Season 2), helmed by Dr Kiran Bedi, and the drama, Sajan Ghar Jaana Hain, premiered on Star Network’s flagship video destination, Star Player (www.startv.in).
Aap Ki Kachehri premiered at 8 am, while Sajan Ghar Jaana Hain premiered at 5 pm.
This is only the first step for the recently launched Star Player’s (www. startv.in) objective to stream premium quality shows. India’s first online television product, Star Player is the online video destination for premium copyrighted content – from Star shows and news to other web original content.
Star Player supports and enhances the overall equity of the Star Network because its full-length content is an added layer that drives content consumption post on air playout.
