Studio 18 postpones Jab We Met release

MUMBAI: The Indian Film Company has assigned the worldwide distribution rights of Shahid Kapur -Kareena Kapoor starrer Jab We Met to its subsidiary company Studio 18. The film will now release on 26 October as opposed to 19 October as planned earlier.

Studio 18 national head – domestic distribution Utpal Acharya says, “The release date has been chosen with careful deliberation, keeping in mind the upcoming festive season. This date will allow a maximum play time for the film, since Ramzaan will have concluded two weeks prior and Diwali will be 15 days away.”

Also, since T-Series’ Bhool Bhullaiya and Yash Raj Films’ Lagaa Chunari Mein Daag are releasing on 12 October, Studio 18 chose to release the film two weeks later in order to avoid a clash.

Produced by Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd. and directed by Imtiaz Ali, Jab We Met is a musical romantic comedy set in North India. Music director Pritam has composed the score for the film and the album is set for release on 18 September.

Jab We Met will showcase Kareena and Shahid together after a gap of one and a half year. They were last paired together in UTV’s Chup Chup Ke and Mukta Arts’ 36 China Town in 2006.
