MUMBAI: Sri Purna Vidya Productions plans to distribute its latest Tamil venture Esappattukkari in a unique way, by pre-releasing tickets at subsidised rates through various outlets.
Sources close to the producer say that the pre-release sales of the tickets are priced as low as Rs 10. “The ticket-holders will view the film in cinema halls rented by the producers. This technique is looked at as a boon especially in case of films made for niche audiences,” say audiences.
Esappattukkari tells the story of a girl born in a slum to a ‘nadaswaram’ artiste. The girl grows up to become a popular singer. Veteran Kunnakudi Vaidyanathan plays the protagonist and has also directed the film and provided the music score.
