Timeless classics on mobile phones

MUMBAI : Rajshri Media (P) Limited, the newly incubated digital arm of the Rajshri Group is bringing some of the biggest blockbusters of all times on your mobile phone. The company has launched ‘Timeless Classics’, a special on mobile networks that will bring you an array of mobile content from an all-time classic film, every Friday. Manmohan Desai’s blockbuster Amar Akbar Anthony, Sooraj Barjatya’s master stroke of first love Maine Pyar Kiya, Dev Anand’s greatest classic Guide, Raj Kapoor’s innocent Anari, Shakti Samanta’s master piece Aradhana and Shammi Kapoor’s stylish Kashmir Ki Kali have already made their debut on mobile networks as part of the series.

Barjatya, Managing Director, Rajshri Media; “With more than 90 million mobile phone users in India, growing at a scorching pace of more than 5 million a month, the mobile phone is fast becoming the most powerful, most personal and most direct touch point with consumers. Bollywood is no less than a religion in India and evergreen classics are always front-runners in providing entertainment. It is our proud privilege to bring some of the biggest films of Indian cinema to the mobile phone through a comprehensive bouquet of mobile properties”.

‘Timeless Classics’ is a special zone on every operator portal from where users can download wallpapers, animations, themes, logos, ringtones and videos of a classic film every week. While a classic film will feature on the portal every Friday, users can also search the archives for the films they have missed. Content downloads will also be linked to contests on the SMS and Voice portals, where users will be given an opportunity to win movie DVDs, VCDs, rare memorabilia from the movie or even stand a chance to win a date with a superstar of yesteryears. Rajshri Media aims to make this a regular fare with mobile operators, as the company currently holds mobile rights to almost 250 films in Hindi and other regional languages.

Some of the other films, scheduled to be released as part of ‘Timeless Classics’ include Bombay To Goa, Ek Duje Ke Liye, Khilona, Tere Ghar Ke Samne, Kalicharan and Kati Patang amongst many others.

How to Get Timeless Classics on your Phone?

You need to log on to the following portals, provided by your mobile operators, on your GPRS enabled phones and look out for the ‘Timeless Classics’ section. You will be able to view images, ringtones, and videos of the movie showcased for the week, which you can download on to your phone.
