Uday Chopra penned nine drafts for Pyaar Impossible

MUMBAI: Actor Uday Chopra has turned scriptwriter with his forthcoming film, Pyaar Impossible. However, being a scriptwriter didn’t come easy to him. Uday had to write almost nine drafts of the film before going ahead with the final one.

After Dhoom 2, none of the acting offers that came his way, excited him; so he decided to pen a story in his free time instead. The idea of Pyaar Impossible was lying dormant in his mind for a long time but little did he realize how difficult it was to actually write his idea and have it approved by older brother Aditya. After rejecting almost eight drafts, Aditya finally gave the go ahead to the film.

Speaking to Businessofcinema.com, Uday says, "After Dhoom 2 released in 2006, I got offers that were not really interesting so I decided to write a script since I had a good idea in mind and I wanted to try something different. I wrote around nine drafts before going on with the final one. I showed the first draft to my brother Aditya and he rejected it, so I wrote it and re- wrote it till he finally liked it."

"I play the character of the geek and since I had written the character from scratch, I knew the character well so it was easy for me to act the part," added Uday.

The film is a romantic comedy, about a geek falling in love with a beauty. Produced by Yash Raj Films, Pyaar Impossible stars Uday and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles and is directed by Jugal Hansraj. The film has been shot in California, India and Singapore.

Pyaar Impossible is set to release on 8 January, 2010.
