MUMBAI: Film producer Yash Chopra has added yet another feather to his cap by being feted by the House of Lords and House of Commons recently.
During his UK visit, Chopra was also invited by the ROKO Cancer charity to accept Patronage to the Charity and was felicitated by British members of Parliament Keith Vaz, Tony Baldry and John Barret.
After a luncheon at the House of Lords, Chopra was honoured at the House of Commons later in the evening.
Sharing his thoughts with various dignitaries, community leaders and members of the press, Chopra said, “Indian cinema is plagued with its own cancer of piracy and the blatant theft of copyright of intellectual property. We have been trying to find a cure for this, but it has now spread to the roots of the system and I wonder if we will ever find this much needed cure.”
The evening was attended by British ministers and members of Parliament as well as the crème de la crème of London society.
