MUMBAI: Model turned actor Upen Patel, who debuted in Mukta Arts’ 36 China Town, has signed six films which are slated to release in 2007 and 2008.
His association with producer Suneel Darshan will continue for two more films, after the forthcoming Shaka Laka Boom Boom is released.
Tentatively titled Karle Pyar Karle, Darshan’s next film will be shot on a 40 day start to finish schedule in May 2007. “Karle Pyar Karle will be my first film as a solo hero, in which I will play a lover boy paired with two girls,” says Patel.
The film, says Patel, will be shot in Taiwan on a budget of Rs 150 million (Rs 15 crore). In fact, Darshan even plans to team up with music directors Nadeem and Shravan to score the music for this film, claims Patel. His third film with Darshan will roll by next year.
According to the actor, producer Subhash Ghai too has signed him up for a three film contract. “In 2008, I will do a mafia thriller with Abbas Mastan. It stars Sanjay Dutt and me. The other films will follow after that,” he says.
