UTV chalks out overseas promotion strategy for Fashion

MUMBAI: UTV Motion Pictures’ forthcoming film Fashion, directed by Madhur Bhandarkar, is slated to release across 630 screens in India and 120 screens in 16 countries across the globe.

Fashion will release in the US and the Middle East on 30 October, with the other international markets following on 31 October.

The movie has recently been cleared by the CBFC with an A certificate and UTV Motion Pictures has chalked out a heavy-duty overseas extravaganza for the movie.

Fashion will have its premiere on 24 October at the South Asian International Film Festival in New York. This will be followed by a promotion held by The Citibank NRI division inviting their clients for select Fashion screenings on 29 October across six US cities namely New York, New Jersey, Houston, Dallas, San Francisco and Chicago.

On the other hand, Dubai will host the Fashion Red Carpet Premiere on 29 October, in association with Star TV Middle East. The premiere will be attended by the cast and crew of the movie comprising Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut, Mugdha Godse, Arjan Bawja, Madhur Bhandarkar amongst others. The event will be promotions on the Star channels in the Middle East.

Australia and New Zealand will also host the ‘Fashion Nights’ contest across five cities – Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and Auckland; wherein the winners, crowned as Ms. ‘Fashion Australia’, will be given certificates attested by director Madhur Bhandarkar and Priyanka Chopra.

In India, Fashion theme parties coined as Fashion Nights will be held in Mumbai, Delhi, Pune and Bangalore along with partner brands.
