Mumbai: UTV has signed a satellite syndication deal with Colors, under which it has licensed rights for 27 films on a non-exclusive basis for India and overseas.
The movies, which will be telecast on Colors in the coming months, includes Jodhaa Akbar, Race, Life in a Metro, Mumbai Meri Jaan, A Wednesday and Welcome to Sajjanpur. Colors would be the second broadcaster for airing these films after UTV Movies.
UTV Motion Pictures CEO Siddharth Roy Kapur said, "We are glad to announce this satellite syndication deal with Colors for a selection of films from the UTV library. UTV has had a dream run in 2008 with all our releases performing exceptionally well at the box office and with this and other syndication deals we hope to increase the audience for these movies across India and around the world."
Colors chief executive officer Rajesh Kamat said, "The acquisitions of some of the biggest blockbusters from UTV underline our commitment of bringing the best in entertainment to our viewers offering wholesome entertainment for the entire family."
