MUMBAI: Yesteryear actor Anita Guha passed away on 20 June 2007 following a cardiac arrest, according to private hospital sources.
Guha had no children but counted actors like Mala Sinha and Helen among close buddies.
Guha came to Mumbai from Bengal to appear in a national beauty pageant in the 1950s when she was 15 and stayed back to play major roles in several films.
She appeared in the role of Sita in Sampoorna Ramayan, which was a huge hit in the early 60s and repeated the feat with another devotional film, Jai Santoshi Maa by playing the title role in 1975. She also played major roles in Purnima (1965), Pyar Ki Rahen (1959), Gateway of India (1957), Dekh Kabira Roya (1957) and Sanjog (1961).
