He has been praised and criticized both for his works, they show us a life behind the light and glamour, a life which is ugly, competitive and harsh. Some of his most celebrated works include Page 3, Fashion and Heroine. Finally after a long break, he is back with his ambitious new film Calender Girls.
The teaser of Calendar Girls earlier gave us a glimpse of what’s in store for us as it introduced us to the five leading ladies in the film. But the film’s trailer finally introduces each one of the five Calendar girls to us perfectly and their stories. In the trailer, we meet Paroma Ghosl from Kolkata, Nazneen Malik who plays as a girl from Lahore in reality is from Gandhinagar, Nandita Menon from Hyderabad, Sharon Pinto from Goa is played by Satarupa who hails from Kolkata and Mayuri Chauhan from Rohtak; five different girls from different places and culture, but with one common dream, a dream to become the most famous Calendar girl!

Madhur Bhandarkar calls his film “inspirational and reality based”, he was proud to say that “I have always presented reality with bravery and have never been afraid of confrontation”. “We have taken inspiration from a lot of people like Vijay Mallya, who launches a calendar every year. I share a good relationship with him. Deepika Padukone, who herself was a calendar girl, also inspired me for this film.”. He wanted to know the story of the girls who became the Calendar Girls. “I searched and found the girls who had changed their whole line of work even after getting featured in these Calendars”.
In this new Madhur Bhandarkar film, Calendar Girls, we’ll see five actresses, Avani Modi, Satarupa Pyne, Kyra Dutt, Akanksha Puri and Ruhi Singh. The film is all set to hit the theatres on September 25, 2015.
