MUMBAI: Raj Kumar Gupta’s ‘Ghanchakkar’ seems to be nothing like the usual Bollywood comedies, and it looks like Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan are going all out in trying to let people know that.
At a recent promotional event, Vidya Balan was once again seen in an outfit which was reminiscent of what her character wears in the Ghanchakkar trailer and stills.
Emraan Hashmi, meanwhile, was in a simple t-shirt of the band Black Sabbath. Does this have something to do with his character in ‘Ghanchakkar’ or does he like the band? We’ll peg it at the former.
At the ‘Ghanchakkar’ promotion, Vidya Balan even had her serial kisser co-star Emraan Hashmi do a ramp-walk wearing a pair of quirky glasses, devil’s horns and a pink feather boa. Emraan Hashmi, quite the sport, strutted for Vidya Balan and the crowd present.
In the meantime, Emraan Hashmi has been kept busy onscreen as well. The new video for the song Allah Meherbaan from ‘Ghanchakkar’ shows a hapless Emraan Hashmi searching for cures for, supposedly, his memory loss problem. In the background, a qawwali style track recounts his character’s bad luck in receiving help, and how “Allah” needs to be “Meherbaan” on him.
‘Ghanchakkar’ is Raj Kumar Gupta’s third film, and his first comedy. Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi will be seen in a never-seen-before avatar on the big screen on 28 June, 2013.
