Dad Would Have Wanted Me To Work: Priyanka Chopra Starts Shooting For Mary Kom

Producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali had asked Priyanka Chopra to take a short break post her father's death, but Priyanka Chopra wants to go ahead with the shooting of the Olympic-winning boxer's biopic.

MUMBAI: Death can be a very unsettling experience, but Priyanka Chopra is not letting death get her down. Priyanka Chopra has decided to start shooting for her forthcoming Mary Kom biopic from today although her father Dr. Ashok Chopra passed away just a week ago.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who is the producer of the film had reportedly asked Priyanka Chopra to take a break from the shooting, but Priyanka Chopra, who had been training hard to depict the Olympic-winning boxer did not want to keep him waiting.

The sets of the film are already set up in Filmistan studio in Mumbai, so it is understandable that Priyanka Chopra, who has always had the reputation of being hard-working and professional, did not want to disrupt the schedule of Omang Kumar’s directorial debut.

A source said that Priyanka Chopra expressed her desire to resume work three days ago. Sanjay Leela Bhansali once again told her that there was no hurry. But Priyanka Chopra said that her dad would have wanted her to work, so she would like to do so. That was when Sanjay Leela Bhansali locked 17 June as the day for the mahurat shot.

We hope that Priyanka Chopra can give her all for this film, and wait eagerly for her efforts to be seen onscreen.
