2002 Hit & Run Case
On September 28, 2002, Salman Khan’s Toyota Land Cruiser ran over five people. One of them died on the spot and four others were severely wounded. After a long run, on May 6, Salman Khan was sentenced to five years in jail of ‘culpable homicide not amounting to murder’ by the sessions court in his 2002hit-and-run case. Two days after the case’s verdict, Salman Khan was granted bail and the court suspended his sentence pending the hearing and disposal of his appeal against the conviction.
