Aankhen 2; sequel to the 2002 hit thriller Aankhen will be directed by Anees Bazmi who also directed Akshay Kumar’s Singh Is King.
The cast of the sequel Aankhen 2 has undergone a complete transformation. The initial movie had Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Arjun Rampal in the main leads with Sushmita Sen and Bipasha Basu. However, the new advancement will not have the same characters as before.
According to reports, Akshay Kumar will not be a part of the sequel Aankhen 2 and John Abraham has been roped in to fill the part. Also, the over talented Anil Kapoor will play a role in the movie.
If reports are to be believed, John Abraham along with two other actors will be playing the blind characters and Anil Kapoor will be the one who will possess visibility. The actresses for the same are yet to be announced.
Talking of Amitabh Bachchan who played a very important character in the film’s prequel, the superstar will also be seen in the sequel.
Apparently, John has also filled in Akshay’s shoes in the sequel of the latter’s hit film Welcome.
The reason Akshay opted out of the sequel is that the actor is already busy with prior commitments and does not have enough dates for filming Aankhen 2.
Going by the storyline, the sequel will continue from where the initial movie ended and will start from Amitabh Bachchan’s release from imprisonment. Arjun Rampal who played one of the leads in the 2002 film will not be a part of the sequel. The film Aankhen 2 was announced way back in 2006, but will hopefully now see the light of the screens. According to reports, the shooting for the sequel will roll from this month.
