MUMBAI: Abhishek Kapoor who shot to fame with ‘Rock On’ and ‘Kai Po Che’ has got engaged to his long time girlfriend Pragya Yadav.
The engagement took place in a hush-hush ceremony attended by family and close friends and the wedding date is yet to be finalised. Soon after the engagement, a beaming Pragya said, “Hopefully we will get married very soon. I can’t say when, but yes very soon.”
Pragya Yadav and Abhishek Kapoor’s families have met each other and Abhishek’s mother is keen that the marriage takes place soon.
Abhishek started his career as an actor in ‘Uff! Yeh Mohabbat’ in 1996, opposite Twinkle Khanna and the film was directed by Vipin Handa. He made his directorial debut in 2006 with ‘Aryan’ starring Sohail Khan and Sneha Ullal.
It was in 2008 that saw the rise of this talented actor/director with the film ‘Rock On’ that also marked the acting debut of Farhan Akhtar.
Currently Abhishek is busy with the pre-production of his ambitious project ‘Fitoor’ starring Aditya Roy Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, based on the novel of Charles Dickens’, ‘Great Expectations’. The film is expected to go on floor early March 2014.
Pragya is a model and has been brought up in Sweden. She is expected to make her film debut with Amol Gupte’s ‘Hawa Hawai’. The couple met in a concert and has been dating each other for a while.
