MUMBAI: Looks like Aditya Roy Kapoor has become the ‘second best choice’ when it comes to casting for films.
Aditya Roy Kapoor, who began his carrier with two flops in a row, Vipul Shah’s ‘Action Replayy’ and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Guzaarish’, is now on a high.
He replaced the Pakistani television actor Imran Abbas Naqvi in ‘Aashiqui 2’ opposite Shraddha Kapoor. He has now also replaced Sushant Singh Rajput in Abhishek Kapoor’s ‘Fitoor’ opposite Katrina Kaif.
“As a maker, I have always invested in new and emerging talent and with his talent and persona, Aditya is right up there,” said Abhishek. Abhishek Kapoor was looking for a perfect cast for his timeless love story ‘Fitoor’. He is very happy to have found that in Aditya and Katrina.
Sushant walked out of ‘Fitoor’ as he had already has allotted dates to Shekhar Kapur’s ‘Paani’.
‘Fitoor’ is a screen adaptation of Charles Dickens novel ‘The Great Expectations’. Aditya would be essaying the role of ‘Pip’, who is the narrator as well as protagonist in the novel, whereas Katrina will be seen as rich girl Estella.
All we have to say is – like it was Imarn’s loss and Aditya’s gain, history shall repeat itself and itself the second time around and ‘Fitoor’ would be Sushant’s loss and Aditya’s yet again!
