MUMBAI: Akshay Kumar is known for his impeccable comic timing and his high-octane action scenes. We surely remember his comic antics and his action in films like ‘Khiladi’, ‘Khakee’, Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi’ and the recently released ‘Khiladi 786’.
The actor is now making a comeback to full action films and is shooting for Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s new venture tentatively titled ‘Pistol’, which is a remake of the Tamil film ‘Thuppaki’.
Sadly, an action sequence featuring Akshay Kumar went awfully wrong when a tow truck ran over his foot, while he was shooting for ‘Pistol’.
The actor was taken to Kokilaben Ambani hospital and has been advised rest for a few days. His wife, actress Twinkle Khanna has been beside him at the hospital.
While Akshay Kumar is not worried about his injury, he is sad that he had to cancel a dinner date with wife Twinkle Khanna.
“She’s never had to meet me in a hospital all these years we have been together. Thankfully, I should be fine in sometime. Not many people who get run down by a tow truck get to say that. I think I have a high threshold for pain,” he said.
Akshay Kumar plans to spend some time with his family and son Aarav, before he resumes work for the ‘Thuppaki’ remake.
Here’s hoping he recovers soon, and returns to form, as he’s probably one of the few actors who does most of his own stunts and ups the ante in action.
