[tps_footer]Well it actually happened on January 14, 2014 night, at the 20th Annual Life OK Screen Awards at MMRDA ground in Mumbai when Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan and Rekha came face to face.

Rekha was the first one to arrive at the awards night and was already seated in the front row when Amitabh Bachchan along with Jaya and son Abhishek Bachchan arrived at the venue. As the organizers were leading the Bachchan’s to their seat, Mr. Bachchan greeted everybody who was seated in the front row.

As they reached where the diva was seated, Mr. Bachchan very cordially greeted the lady, his co-star from many films in the past.

But then all eyes were set on Mrs. Bachchan and the question on everyone’s mind was will she or won’t she acknowledge Rekha’s presence. Well it was so, as though the moment froze for a split second and all eyes were set on both Rekha and Mrs. Bachchan, but then Jaya and Rekha too greeted each other cordially. You could call it a handshake that does not happen normally.

What was surprising was that both were wearing a similar shade of sari, well one can call it a coincidence but then it was a good one.

The last time Jaya Bachchan and Rekha bumped face to face with each other was on the occasion of the book launch of late photographer Gautam Rajadhyaksha‘s book.

Interestingly, Rekha had come forward to hug Mrs. Bachchan at Rajadhyaksha’s book launch a few years ago. This time the shutterbugs had to make do with just a picture of them shaking hands.

Relations between Rekha and the Bachchans have always been under the public scanner due to the long-standing love affair between Amitabh and Rekha that had created major buzz in the film industry.

All said and done, Amitabh Bachchan was conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 20th annual Life OK Screen Awards.[/tps_footer]
