In 1997, Rani Mukherji stepped in Bollywood with her film Raja Ki Ayegi Baarat. Directed by Ashok Gaikwad, the film tells a story of an innocent pretty looking school teacher, who is raped by a man named Raja. Mala, the female lead in the film, played by Rani, takes her rapist to court but to her dismay, the judge rules the rapist to marry her as a punishment. The movie tells Mala‘s painful journey. Rani won hearts with her fabulous performance in the film and instantly became talk of the B-town.
