Rani was already famous and had a good fan following, by after her film Black released in the theatres in 2004, the audiences were absolutely blown by Rani’s role in the film. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Rani played the role of a blind and deaf girl. The film revolved around her day-to-day struggle and her relationship with her teacher, played by Amitabh Bachchan. Rani was awarded by Best Actress and Best Actress Critic’s Choice Filmfare award for her role in the film.
