Mika Singh turns thirty seven today, June 10, 2014. This talented singer with a distinct voice is multifaceted; he is a singer, composer, performer, songwriter and now an actor.
Amrik Singh, is the youngest of six brothers, and known by his stage name Mika Singh was born to Ajmer Singh Chandan and Balbir Kaur and was brought up in Patna, Bihar along with his brother Daler Mehndi. Both his parents took interest in music.
Mika’s musicial journey began way back in the year 1998, with his private album Saawan Mein Lag Gayi Aag. Post that he was busy with his stage shows, and then in 2006 he made headlines with a huge controversy.
Considered to be the king of controversies, as Mika has been into many controversies – the biggest being the Kissa Kiss Ka with drama queen Rakhi Sawant. It may be recalled that Rakhi Sawant had said that she was forcibly kissed by the singer at latter’s birthday bash in 2006.
Mika’s side of the story was very clear, he had thrown a birthday bash, where he had actually invited Rakhi’s boyfriend. But Rakhi tagged along with her boyfriend and was behaving overfriendly with Mika. So much, so that she smacked cake on the birthday boy’s face in front of his bodyguards. Mika didn’t appreciate this behavior and wanted to teach Rakhi a lesson. That is when an angry Mika kissed Rakhi and she left the party, only to return after two hours with a whole bunch of people to fight the issue, and was stretched to such an extent, that it reached the court. Mika wanted to settle it, but Rakhi was in no mood to do so. And the rest as we all know is history.
However the following year saw Mika rise to great heights with Mauja Hi Mauja from Jab We Met and Ganpat for Shootout At Lokhandwala, both song in the year 2007 created such an impact, that now it’s almost a give-in for every maker to have one song from Mika in their film.
Mika has songs like Singh Is King (Singh Is King), Dhanno (Houseful), Dhinka Chika (Ready), Chinta Ta Ta Chita Chita (Rowdy Rathore) and many more to his credit.
