BMC Visits Shah Rukh Khan On Sex Determination Matter

Acting promptly over alleged sex determination charges against Shah Rukh Khan, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corportaion (BMC) visited the actor’s house in Bandra, to probe into the complaint filed against him and wife Gauri Khan for violating rules of the Pre-Conecption and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Technique (PCPNDT Act).

MUMBAI: Acting promptly on reports that claim actor Shah Rukh Khan has determined the sex of his unborn baby, born through surrogacy, a procedure illegal in India, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) paid a visit to the actor’s house to probe details.

It has been reported that Shah Rukh Khan and wife Gauri Khan are becoming parents and that the child, being born through surrogacy is a baby boy. There was a huge hue and cry raised over the gender of the unborn kid and several tabloids criticized Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan for flouting the rules of the Pre-Conception, Pre-Natal Diagnostic Technique (PCPNDT Act).

The rule clearly states that determining the gender of a baby is illegal in India and if found guilty, one can face imprisonment up to five years and a hefty fine.

With these details in mind and an order from the municipal commissioner (health) Manisha Mhaiskar, BMC officials visited Mannat to check if the star had opted for a sex determination test.

While the actor is in London with family, his secretary was quick and prepared and refused to make any statements.

BMC-Executive Officer (Health), Dr. Bamane says, “Shah Rukh’s secretary told our team since they have never made any official announcement about the surrogacy or the expected child, there was no question of giving any statement.”

Manisha Mhaiskar is upbeat about finding if Shah Rukh Khan has actually gone for sex determination. “If it has been done in Mumbai, we will initiate action. But we need to find it out first,” she says.

Meanwhile, an official spokesperson for Jaslok Hospital has released a statement that denies any linkage of the hospital staff in connection to the Shah Rukh Khan – Gauri Khan surrogacy matter. The statement reads:

“Dr. Firuza Parikh, who is the director of the IVF Centre at Jaslok Hospital, has not done surrogacy for Mr and Mrs Shah Rukh Khan. She is not involved in the care of the alleged surrogacy.”

Well we do not know whether Shah Rukh Khan is aware of the proceedings happening here, as he seems to be merrily holidaying in London. All we can guess is once the actor is back; there is surely some drama in store out there. If not just a mere clarification from the actor will just help for the moment.
