Box Office: Priyanka Chopra-Dwayne Johnson’s Baywatch Is A Disaster, Wonder Woman Leads!

Priyanka Chopra Baywatch

Hollywood films- Priyanka Chopra-Dwayne Johnson starrer Baywatch and Wonder Woman are currently battling at the Indian Box Office. Looked like PeeCee’s maiden Hollywood project Baywatch will give tough competition to Gal Gadot’s superhero avatar in Wonder Woman. However, that is evidently not happening.

Warner Bros’ Wonder Woman is doing well internationally as well as at the Indian BOX Office. On the other hand, Baywatch has turned out disaster internationally as well as in India. The film has received poor reviews by the Hollywood critics while in India; the film has received mixed reactions.

Baywatch earned Rs 25 Lakh nett approx on Thursday (Paid previews), Rs 1.50 crore (15 Million) nett approx on Friday, Rs 1.75 crore (17.5 Million) nett approx on Saturday and Rs 1.50 crore (15 Million) nett approx on Sunday. The collections of the film have constantly dropped on the weekend, which is of course, not a good sign.

Well, Monday turned out to be another disaster day for the film as the film could collect only Rs 75 Lakhs nett approx. The film, which released in four languages (English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu), has earned total Rs 5.75 crore (57.5 Million) nett approx in 5 days. Looks like Baywatch will have a tough time to even touch 10 crore mark by the end of its first-week run.

Directed by Seth Gordon, “Baywatch“, which has been adapted from the 1990s’ popular TV series of the same name, also stars Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario, Kelly Rohrbach and Jon Bass.

Talking about Wonder Woman, the action adventure entertainer, based on the DC Comics character, made its way into the theatres in India on Friday on 350 screens and has released only in English in India. Despite releasing in only English, Wonder Woman is doing a better business than Baywatch in India. The film has earned Rs 10.25 crore nett approx since its release and is looking forward to touch 20 crore mark in a couple of weeks.
