Censor Board Puts The List Of Banned Words On Hold


Recently, Censor Board Of Film Certification chairman Pahlaj Nihalani had removed a list of 28 words, which cannot be used in any certification category. (Censor Board Issues List Of Abusive Words Which Are Banned) The list of words, which cannot be used in the film, was sent to the producers’ Association and Regional officers.

But now the reports say that Central Board Of Film Certification chairman Pahlaj Nihalani has put the list of abusive words on hold. Today, during the meeting, several members of board objected on the list of words, which was removed few weeks back.

The list of words had those English and Hindi words, which are violent against women and other double meaning kind of words. The list also disallows use of the word “Bombay” to describe India’s commercial capital, which was renamed to Mumbai in 1996.

This controversy of banning the use of abusive language came up when the comedy show AIB Knockout roasting with Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh went viral online.
