CityLight Star Rajkummar Rao Believes In The Money Game

citylight-7Looks like the commercial bug has finally bitten Rajkummar Rao as he says that while he wants his films to be critically acclaimed he wants them to be commercially successful as well.

“I duly believe in the numbers game. It’s important for a film to find a balance. It should earn money besides getting critical acclaim. Till now, all my films have managed to achieve both and I hope CityLights gains more success,” stated Rajkummar Rao.

Rajkummar Rao, who made his Bollywood debut with Love, Sex Aur Dhokha in 2010, is currently busy shooting for Arbaaz Khan‘s Production Dolly Ki Doli, in which he stars along with Saif Ali Khan and Sonam Kapoor.

Dolly Ki Doli is a commercial entertainer with plenty of song and dance, something that Rajkummar Rao has not done before, Rajkummar admits. “It’s a fun film and the best part is director Arbaaz Khan, who always keeps the atmosphere on the sets light. It’s not always serious work, he makes sure we have our breaks and its like one big party.”

When asked if winning the National Award has changed his life, he said, “Not really although the people around me seem to have changed. People in the industry are talking about it more than me. For me, life is the same, just that I’m getting better offers.”

For Rajkummar Rao we hope that this dream run continues.
