Mumbai: Director Sangeeth Sivan is looking for a lead lady for the sequel of Yamla Pagla Deewana. Rumours are that the Deol’s (Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby) are keen on casting Katrina Kaif, who shared screen space with them in Apne (2007).
Earlier Preity Zinta was supposed to do the project, but reports suggest that she walked out last week because of money issues. Refuting these reasons, Bobby Deol has said, “There’s no truth in this. This has never been the case and PZ is a dear friend.”
A source close to the unit said, “Negotiations are on. If Katrina doesn’t agree, there are some other names under consideration.” The original Yamla Pagla Deewana, directed by Samir Karnik, had received considerably good response at the box office last year. But, the sequel will see a change in the storyline. “Of course, there will be action since Sunny is there. We added more elements to the story,” reveals Bobby. So, will Katrina want to be part of a movie that is going to be an all-out Deol movie? We will have to see.
The sequel will go on floors by August end and the Deol’s are keen on wrapping up by the end of this year.
