Farhan Akhtar is on a new high.
One of his most acclaimed films that took away most of the awards last year, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, has just released in Japan. The film is a biopic on the life of athlete, national champion runner and Olympian, Milkha Singh, and explores the struggles of a child after he lost his family during partition! Also starring Sonam Kapoor, Divya Dutta and Prakash Raj, the film released in India in July 2013. A share of the profits from Bhaag Milkha Bhaag goes to Milkha Singh Charitable Trust, which is an NGO supporting poor and needy sportspeople.
The actor-director-singer-producer now also has a huge virtual family of 4.5 million followers in twitter. Farhan has greeted them all with a “virtual hug”, to celebrate this. The multi-talented personality uses twitter not only to talk about his films and his upcoming musical shows, but he also uses this platform to talk about the MARD (Men Against Rape & Discrimination) initiative, which he started in 2013 to raise social awareness on crime against women, after an employee of Excel Entertainment was raped and murdered in her flat by the building watchman!
Business of Cinema wishes Bhaag Milkha Bhaag to garner excellent response in Japan!
