MUMBAI: Nikhil Advani’s crime-thriller film ‘D-Day’ saw a grand first look launch in Mumbai, on Thursday. The film, co-produced by DAR motion pictures and Emmay Entertainment Pvt Limited, is set for a July 2013 release.

Starring Irrfan Khan, Arjun Rampal, Rishi Kapoor and Huma Qureshi, it is reportedly heavily inspired from mafia boss Dawood Ibrahim’s life.

Said Advani, “My film is about the most wanted man in India. The story is about an operation that takes place in Karachi to bring this man back to Indian shores. The idea for this movie came from a conversation that I had with my driver while we were stuck in traffic. I was reading about Osama bin Laden being captured and told the news to my driver. He turned to me and said, “if they can do it why can’t we”. That got me thinking.”

Spotted at the first look launch was Nikhil, with his ‘D-Day’ cast and crew. Rishi Kapoor looked dapper in a black suit and mauve shirt. Once again, the talented veteran superstar will be seen essaying a negative role, after his much appreciated turn as villain in both ‘Agneepath’ and ‘Aurangzeb’.

The film’s heroine Huma Qureshi showed up, in an all-black ensemble. Irrfan Khan went diametrically opposite in white, while the music directors of ‘D-Day’, Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy were also spotted at the first look and poster launch of the film.
