MUMBAI: David Dhawan, the quintessential King of Comedy of the 1990’s, is back with a bang. The funny filmmaker is all set to tickle our funny bone, with a remake of the 1980’s classic ‘Chashme Baddoor’.
The 2013 version of ‘Chashme Baddoor’ stars Pakistani actor-singer Ali Zafar, south film actor Siddharth, Divyendu Sharma and debutante Taapsee Pannu in pivotal roles. ‘Chashme Baddoor’ is slated for a 5 April 2013 release.
We spotted the team of ‘Chashme Baddoor’ at the film’s music launch, where we witnessed a very David Dhawan-esque set-up, replete with mad revelry and inane banter. The atmosphere of the music launch was casual and light-hearted, and we couldn’t help but notice the warm camaraderie shared by the entire cast and crew.
Ali Zafar was frontlining all the madness in a kitschy, flashy ensemble of a bright silver jacket and jeans. The film’s other two leading men, Divyendu and Siddharth followed suit in similarly off-beat ensembles. Leading lady Tapsee kept it casual in a short, pink dress while director David Dhawan was at the centre of all the mayhem in a sober white tee. His attire didn’t fool anyone, for the legendary comic-caper filmmaker was the one who had the most fun at the music launch.
David Dhawan was in his element, as he arrived at the music launch atop a white scooter, accompanied by music composer-duo Sajid-Wajid. The trio made all present giggle out loud as they were seen wearing funky sunglasses, straight out of a cartoon comic-book. Dance director Ganesh Acharya soon joined in the fun, and was seen dancing on stage along with Ali, Divyendu, Siddharth and Tapsee.
It had been such a long time since we had witnessed such a fun-filled, comical and absolutely entertaining music launch.
