Madhuri Dixit looked stunning in designer duo Pankaj And Nidhi’s designed orange coloured knee-length suit that had hues of pink on the heavy bodice that was embroidered with golden and silver zari work.
Madhuri Dixit completed the traditional Indian look with golden jewellery, which blended well with the golden work on the suit. Pink eye shadow and brown matte lips just sealed the look.
Coming back to Gulaab Gang, the film has a hard hitting message of women empowerment and will premiere on International Women’s Day, March 07, 2014.
More than twenty thousand people packed the grounds and showed their support by turning up wearing pink caps. Female students from various schools and colleges performed at the event with dance’s and drama’s adding a punch to the film’s social message. The highlight was a rally by students, which shouted out slogans and were joined by the crowd gathered vibrating the whole arena.
Madhuri Dixit, who essays the character of Rajjo Devi addressed the crowd and stated, “A daughter keeps the balance intact in a family.
There should be a sense of equality between a man and woman present in the society. My character Rajjo in the film is fighting for the same cause. The character maybe different from Madhuri as a person but Madhuri agrees and stands with Rajjo. The story of Gulaab Gang is a piece of my heart. It makes me very happy and proud to see the support people have given the film and its message.”
With Gulaab Gang, one can safely say that Bollywood has finally made a space for women and has tried to recognize woman power. There is no romance, no running around the trees routine, and hopefully no melodrama. Instead, there are lots of powerful performances.
Gulaab Gang is produced by Anubhav Sinha, is presented by Sahara Movie Studios and Bharat Shah and is a Benaras Mediaworks Production. It is directed by debutant Soumik Sen and stars Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla in lead roles.
