Shahid Kapoor mesmerized audiences with his breathtaking performance in Vishal Bhardwaj’s film Haider. So far, the film has won a lot of awards and now has won another 5. At National Film Awards on March 24, Haider bagged five awards. The director of the film, Mr Bhardwaj is more than honoured with the win-win moment. “We have got more than what we expected. We have got five awards and I am overwhelmed,” the director expressed his happiness.
The film was a modern day adaptation of William Shakespeare’s tragic story Hamlet. Haider won 5 National Awards; Best Male Playback Singer for song Bismil, sung by Sukhwinder Singh, Best Choregography by Sudesh A
However, the director was disappointed and felt sad for his film’s leading actor Shahid Kapoor. “I am a bit disappointed for Shahid. His performance was really good in the film. I feel sad for Shahid,” said the director of Haider, Vishal Bharadwaj. Shahid won many awards for his role in Haider, even the Filmfare Best Actor Award. So it was disappointing, not just for the filmmaker but even Shahid‘s fans to see the actor not win a National Award for his performance in Haider.
