They say hard work comes easy when you’re having fun. And the king of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan certainly swears by the adage, for he has been pulling all-nighters, rehearsing for the opening ceremony of the much-awaited Pepsi IPL 7 tournament.
The T20 cricketing extravaganza, which kicks off on April 16, 2014, will see a grand opening gala dinner in Abu Dhabi, as opposed to an opening ceremony. Among the attendees, SRK, Madhuri Dixit, Deepika Padukone and other Bollywood celebrities will make an appearance.
SRK will perform a medley of his biggest hits, including Lungi Dance, Chammak Challo and others.
King Khan tweeted a selfie of himself on Twitter last night, burning the midnight oil, in an attempt to make the gala dinner a memorable one. The caption to the picture read: “All nighter in Abu Dhabi. Haven’t slept two days but I know it will be fun with the IPL players so hard work comes easy”
Shah Rukh Khan further posted: “The full moon has followed me from Mumbai to Abu Dhabi, so has its dark side. Nice to be here seeing all my IPL buddies. Bulawa aaya hai.”
For nearly forty days, nine teams will battle it out across the country, playing matches to secure the title of champions. Bollywood and glamour will be in abundance, as team owners like Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla, Shilpa Shetty, Preity Zinta and others notch up the heat.
The opening match will be between defending champions Mumbai Indians, owned by the Ambanis, and Kolkata Knight Riders,Shah Rukh Khan’s team. The match will be held in Abu Dhabi.
