Today being Happy Teacher’s Day look where the battle has begun.
Good old twitter.
It began when Ram Gopal Verma took a dig at Karan Johar’s brand of films.
‘If someone takes off from Karan johar’s Student of the year and makes Teacher of the year it will become the Disaster of the year.’
Pat came Karan Johar’s reply, one to shut every jibe.
‘Disaster of the year is your territory Ramu…no one can ever replace the comfortable place you have made for yourself there.’
And everyone associated with film, for the love of cinema, is right now learning from these two grand masters. A great lesson on September 5, Teacher’s Day to have them both on the war path which they have paved long ago, and never seem to want to kiss and patch up.
This feud is long drawn, when RGV started making fun of Karan Johar films, sort of trying to call them rubbish and inane. Karan has always maintained his dignity and mentioned that Satya, made by RGV is still one of his personal favourites. Guess he has seen the rise, and the slide of film-maker RGV who has been making a lot of insignificant films over the last few years. Whereas Karan has branched into production in a big way, and when he’s not directing, he is busy launching new talent, and making appearance as judge on reality shows on television.
While both are actively present on twitter, and have an occasional run-in there, this time Karan has decided to strike back.
Close on the heels of Karan’s reply, RGV has gone on the defense, saying, ‘Hey karan my tweet was in a series I put on teachers day and that tweet was about some1 taking off from u meaning it a compliment.’
Karan is not responding to that. He’s not amused.
