This period drama is about the ruler Alauddin Khilji, who falls in love with the queen of Chittor Rani, Padmavati. Ranveer portrays the role of ruler Alauddin Khilji and Shahid as King Ratan Singh in Bhansali’s historical drama. Despite the romantic angle, Singh will not romance Padukone in the film.
Director SLB has already begun the shooting of the film with Deepika on November 1. “Yes, technically speaking, it was Deepika who faced the camera first for the film, since she is playing the title role.
