Last month, Bombay High Court ordered a fresh paper book (compilation of court records) in view of some irregularities, in the 2002 hit and run case involving Bollywood actor Salman Khan.
On Monday, the Bombay High Court once again ordered the preparation of a fresh paper-book in the 2002 hit-and-run case, as the court was not satisfied with it. During the trail, the court made it pretty clear that the appeal is the continuation of trail, and they can summon Salman Khan if required.
The court has made appeal that Salman should be present in the court during the next trail on Friday, as said by Justice A R. Joshi. The court also found some unnecessary content in the paper-book, and has asked to be prepared with the new one by September 11. The court made a point that including the charge sheet in the paper-book is not correct, and that the court will once again hear appeal on September 11.

The ‘paper book’ is against conviction, compiling all the evidences and documents with the copies to be submitted to the court. Earlier, Salman‘s counsel Amit Desai urged for three weeks’ adjournment to check whether the documents were in order.
During the last hearing, Desai put his point saying that the entire case was present under circumstantial evidences. He also argued saying singer Kamal Khan who was also present in the car during the accident was not examined before the trial court. He made a point that doctor who conducted autopsy of the victim was produced in the court, but the prosecution did not try to make efforts to trace Kamal Khan.
Salman Khan’s car had met with an accident in suburban Bandra on September 28, 2002, killing one person and injuring four. 13 years after the trial began, Salman Khan’s 2002 hit and run case came to an end on May 6, where session court found him guilty, and sentenced him for five years jail, convicted under all charges. Two days later, sentence was suspended on May 8th and bail was granted in cash of Rs 30,000 in lieu of surety as a temporary measure.
