MUMBAI: The incredible trio of Karan Johar, Punit Malhotra and Imran Khan are back together again… And they’re all set to recreate the magic of Punit Malhotra’s ‘I Hate Luv Stories’, which gave Imran Khan his first legitimate hit in his career.
Punit Malhotra has finished the casting of his upcoming film for Dharma Productions, and has roped in Imran Khan as his hero and Kareena Kapoor as his heroine. Yes, the ‘Ek Main Aur Ek Tu’ Jodi is back on the silver screen, to recreate their sweet chemistry. In that film, Imran didn’t manage to get the girl, but we hope in Malhotra’s next: titled ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’, he manages to win Kareena’s heart.
The news of this casting coup has been exclusively revealed by Dharma magnate Karan Johar himself, via twitter. Karan excitedly tweeted: “Punit Malhotra directs his next for Dharma after #IHLS with Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor….”Gori tere pyaar mein”….will start 1st march!”
What an apt title though, considering Kareena’s exotic foreign looks and sensuously structured beauty. This film is sure to create magic at the box office, going by the stellar cast and production team. Surprisingly though, Punit chose to sidestep his on-again, off-again girlfriend Sonam Kapoor for the role, which finally went to the Begum of Bollywood: Mrs. Kareena Kapoor Khan.
Reportedly, the team did a lot of brainstorming and went back and forth to get the casting right. And finally producer Karan Johar and director Punit Malhotra have zeroed in on Imran and Kareena, hoping to emulate the success of ‘Ek Main Aur Ek Tu’. The film, ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’ reportedly goes on floors in March 2013.
