MACAU: The exchange of actors between Hollywood and Bollywood has been frequent in the past few years. With actors like Irrfan Khan, Tabu, Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan and Anupam Kher regularly working in Hollywood productions, Indian faces have been more familiar in the West.
Now, it is Hollywood star Jean-Claude Van Damme’s turn to work with Bollywood stars. The actor who has recently starred in ‘The Expendables 2’ has been attending the IIFA Awards for 3 consecutive years.
This year, at the 14th edition, the action star was scouting for talent for his upcoming venture ‘Luxury Meets Justice’. “India has great actors and actresses and it is a great country. We should be honoured to have Indian actors in our films. We are going to make a film ‘Luxury Meets Justice’ and India is a big market and should be a part of it,” the 52 year old actor said.
The actor also wants to to star in Indian films. When asked about his plans to shoot in Bollywood films, Jean-Claude Van Damme replied, “I hope so. It will be a pleasure.”
The actor presented an award at the 14th edition of the IIFA Awards held over the weekend at Macau. When he was later asked to name his favourite actor from Bollywood, he replied, “It’s a hard question. It’s like asking what’s better: Ferrari, Lambhorgini or Mercdes!”
Let’s hope that Jean-Claude Van Damme finds his car, or rather, actor of choice for his upcoming film soon.
