MUMBAI: Bollywood hunk John Abraham was spotted at the Standard Chartered Charity Awards night, held at the Trident Hotel in Mumbai last evening.

The uber macho star was seen Standard Chartered Charity Awards show, along with Bollywood celebrities like Suniel Shetty, Mana Shetty and Rahul Bose. Politician Shaina NC was also seen here.

Looking summery in a stiff white shirt and slacks, John was in a good mood as he announced several of the awards.

To a thunderous applause, it was announced at the award function that the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon (SCMM) 2013 managed to collect a whopping Rs 18.61 crore through charity in the 10th edition of the event held in January.

Meanwhile, John has also been hard at work promoting his upcoming film ‘Shootout at Wadala’, which stars Anil Kapoor, Tusshar Kapoor, Kangna Ranaut and Priyanka Chopra in a special item song.

Says Abraham, about the film being a challenging experience for him: “I was apprehensive. As we went deeper into Manya’s character, I realised the role would get tougher by the scene. I had two options: back out and keep my image intact or take the next step and do something radically different.”

In no uncertain terms, John brushed aside a remark about him aggressively promoting Nargis Fakhri, as per the buzz doing the rounds in B’town. “She is doing my home production, Madras Cafe. So, I will promote her,” he said quite simply.
