‘Madras Cafe’, The Silent Film, Now Running In Theaters

The trailers of 'Madras Cafe' are currently running mute in theaters due to a technical glitch in the master print.

MUMBAI: When the trailer for the new John Abraham-starrer ‘Madras Cafe’ came out last week, it received favourable reviews. It was also being screened at theaters in front of the hit ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ but looks like most people have come away thinking ‘Madras Cafe’ will be a silent movie.

The trailer running in theaters does not feature any dialogue at all. This is due to a techncial glitch in the master print.

A source who saw the trailer at a multiplex on Sunday said, “We had no clue what was going on. It was just the visuals and background music. John and Nargis’ dialogues couldn’t be heard. The promo is about two minutes and hardly made any sense.”

Unfortunately, three days passed since the film’s release for the makers to identify the problem and rectify it. They are planning to quickly replace the lot.

The spokesperson of the director Shoojit Sircar said, “Yes, Shoojit is aware of this technical snag and the promos have now been replaced with the new ones.”
