Yes, folks. You read that right. Bollywood fashionista Sonam Kapoor is possibly the greatest, most fashionable bookworm out there today!
Though she doesn’t necessarily look it, it is quite the universal fact that Sonam is quite the nerd in real life. Her high-street fashion and impeccable sartorial choices aside, Sonam is someone who is quite the intellectual, if the roster of books she’s read is anything to go by.
Sonam recently wrapped up shooting for her sister Rhea Kapoor’s Khoobsurat remake, and is using the time off catching up on some reading. The pretty lass, who had a stellar 2013 with back-to-back hits like Raanjhnaa and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, is utilising this downtime to brush up on her literary knowledge.
No wonder Sonam recently tweeted about the latest book on her nightstand. She posted: “Just finished reading ‘The Goldfinch‘ by Donna Tartt. A fantastic read, haven’t enjoyed a book so much in a long time.”
Meanwhile, it has also been learnt that Sonam Kapoor’s dad Anil Kapoor is keen to direct his daughter in a film. She has the talent and potential to be a superstar, it is perhaps her choice of roles that has held her back so far. But papa Anil is keen to remedy this.
The father-daughter duo recently appeared on filmmaker Karan Johar’s chat show, Koffee With Karan, where they displayed an enviable camaraderie. In fact, it didn’t feel like the two were parent and child, they were more like siblings or friends.
Sonam and Anil were constantly ribbing each other good naturedly on the show, with Anil joking that he doesn’t look old enough to be her dad. Interestingly, it was revealed that Abbas-Mustan had approached Anil to play Sonam’s father on screen in a film, which he had flatly refused.
