MUMBAI: Bollywood actresses Kareena Kapoor and Karisma Kapoor’s father, Randhir Kapoor was admitted to the Breach Candy hospital here, a few days ago.

The 65-year-old actor had reportedly complained of breathlessness and chest discomfort, following which he was kept under observation in the intensive care unit (ICU). Fortunately, with his condition showing signs of improvement, Randhir Kapoor was shifted out of the ICU shortly.

Doctors at the Breach Candy hospital said “Mr. Kapoor had suffered respiratory distress, but is now stable.”

When the veteran actor was admitted to the hospital, news of ‘RK in Breach Candy’ spread like wild-fire. Most fans were quick to assume that it was nephew, and Bollywood’s favourite heart-throb Ranbir Kapoor who has taken ill.

The ‘Rockstar’ and ‘Barfi!’ actor’s mother Neetu Singh Kapoor was bombarded with phone calls from friends and contemporaries in the Industry, asking her about Ranbir’s health.

“I don’t know who’s saying Ranbir is sick. He is just fine. It’s my husband’s brother Randhir who went to Breach Candy,” said the harrowed mother.

Neetu also confirmed that Randhir is now stable, “He had to undergo certain tests at the hospital. But there is nothing to worry about and he is not ill. I would rather say that these are very normal tests that the doctor had prescribed for him.”

Raj Kapoor’s oldest son, Randhir first appeared as a hero on the silver screen in ‘Kal Aaj Aur Kal’ (1971). He became a superstar with films like ‘Raampur Ka Lakshman’, ‘Jawani Diwani’ and ‘Kasme Vaade’. He was recently seen in Sajid Khan’s ‘Housefull 2’ (2012) as Dr Dabboo Kapoor.
