Anil Kapoor Launches Indian Version Of TV Series ‘24’

MUMBAI: Bollywood fans of the superhit American TV series ‘24’ are in for a real treat! The TV show is not just coming to India, but is being remade in Hindi.

Anil Kapoor, the actor who starred in the American version of the show, has purchased the remake rights of the series, and is adapting it for Indian Television.

The show will be made in Hindi and will also be dubbed in several regional languages. And not just that, we will also see Anil Kapoor making his debut on the Indian TV screens with this show.

At the press conference for ‘24’, we spotted Bollywood actor Anil ‘jhakkaas’ Kapoor, in a macho avatar dressed in blue jeans, a black sweater and a face full of facial hair.

We also spotted filmmaker Abhinay Deo during the press conference of Colors TV new show 24, along with Colors CEO Raj Nayak.

Anil Kapoor has played the role of a middle-eastern President in season 8 of the American version, and will be seen essaying the lead role of Jack Bauer in the Indian version.

Anil Kapoor Films will produce the show in India. We had earlier reported that Anil Kapoor had purchased the remake rights of ‘24’ from Fox TV last year. He then sold the rights to Colors TV for a whopping 150 crores.

With such an exciting deal being cut in B’town, what with the popularity of the hit TV show in the U.S and all over the globe, we hope to see more such TV shows coming to India.

We hope people like Anil Kapoor will pave the way for popular foreign TV shows being remade in India. This will undoubtedly result in a win-win for the makers and for the TV shows’ fans as well!
