MUMBAI: Our Bollywood stars are, quite naturally, movie buffs themselves. They always manage to squeeze in some time to catch the latest flicks on the big screen, despite their grueling work schedules.
And Bollywood’s latest ‘Bubbly’ girl Anushka Sharma too, is not far behind. The youngster, who was much appreciated for her performance as the docu filmmaker Akira in ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’, was recently spotted at Mumbai’s PVR Juhu theatre, catching up on the latest cinematic offerings with a gaggle of her closest friends.
The Bangalore girl, who had a dream debut with SRK in YRF’s ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’, was caught at the movies, looking cool and casual in a nerdy chic avatar. A grey singlet, white jeans and high-top sneakers, along with an over-sized pair of glasses; and the lady could have been mistaken for any other teenager. Looking thinner than ever, with a bunch of close friends, the lady was seen exiting the theatre post a fun-filled film screening.
The actress, who claimed she never thought she would ever become an actress, had earlier said, “I am just happy that I am getting to do the kind of work I always wanted to do. I started off without knowing whether I wanted to be an actress or not. But since I started doing films, I have started loving the craft.”
Anushka, whose craft has been lauded in films like ‘Band Baaja Baraat’ and ‘Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl’, said that now she has developed a certain understanding of which roles to choose. “Now I have aspirations like, ‘I want to do this kind of film, work with this kind of director or learn from this actor’. So I am happy that I am getting a chance to work with prolific directors,” she added.
Anushka’s next release is director Vishal Bhardwaj’s next project ‘Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola’, which is slated for release January next year.
