KOCHI: The second match of the third season of the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) turned out to be a firecracker of an event, with the ‘Dabangg’ Salman Khan adding muscle power to the proceedings. The superstar Khan was joined by other celebrities, who enjoyed a nail-biting session of cricket at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

Salman was seen cheering for his brother Sohail’s celebrity team ‘Mumbai Heroes’ from the stands, in a dark grey ‘Being’ tee from his line of ‘Being Human’ clothing. Joining Salman was super sexy and gorgeous ‘Inkaar’ star Chitrangda Singh (in a white ‘Being Human’ jersey and a sky blue blazer). The beautiful star was seen providing moral support to Sohail’s team, which ended up losing to the Mollywood-star-studded ‘Kerala Strikers’.

Others spotted were Sonu Sood, Jacky Bhagnani and actor-cum-businessman Suniel Shetty. The surprise revelation came from Salman Khan, who said that he was open to playing in the CCL next year. “I may play next year. The disadvantage with actors is that we are very busy. We have very long hours of work. In spite of all this, they are playing well. This is because cricket is their first love.”

We were pleasantly surprised to hear this admission from the ‘Tiger’ of Bollywood, who’s been suffering from health problems off late. Salman is yet to undertake a trip abroad to get treated for his nerve disease, which causes him immense pain in the head, cheeks and jaw. So much so that he’s been advised not to do any action stunts in his future movies.

Salman added that he was mighty impressed with the actors for their dedication to the sport: “It is a good thing that people are getting hooked on to this. It is great that actors are playing good cricket. It is a good combination of acting and cricket.”
