The Mumbai Police is all set to start their probe in the alleged intimidation and molestation case involving Preity Zinta by her former industrialist boyfriend Ness Wadia by recording her statement in person on June 19, 2014.
On June 16, 2014, Preity Zinta was sent an official communication through her lawyer asking her to be present in person on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at the Marine Drive police station and record her statement or to inform the authorities by the end of the week, a date convenient for her to record her statement.
As stated by Preity Zinta, the incident took place at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium during the final match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament on May 30, 2014. Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia are co-owners of the IPL team Kings XI Punjab. Preity Zinta is currently abroad and had lodged a complaint against Ness Wadia through her lawyer last week.
According to the police Preity Zinta’s initial statement is missing many details, which she needs to give.
The Mumbai police have also written to the Chief Operating Officer of the team, Fraser Castellino, to record his statement. They have also sought assistance from BCCI officials and IPL – Chief Executive Officer, Sundar Raman in the case.
They have also asked BCCI to share the CCTV footage of the owner’s box and the ground where Preity Zinta went after the match got over.
The police are also examining Preity Zinta’s mail exchanges with Ness Wadia to ascertain if they had any heated exchanges in the past.
All we can do is to wait and watch for all this to unfold and the truth to finally be out.
