As soon as the reports of senior actor Vinod Khanna’s death came by, wishing and condolences started pouring in from all sides. Not only is his Bollywood fraternity expressing their loss, but also superstar Rajinikanth spoke about losing a “dear friend”.
Rajinikanth, who has worked with Khanna in films like Khoon Ka Karz and Farishtay, tweeted his deep heartfelt message: “My dear friend Vinod Khanna… will miss you, RIP. My heartfelt condolences to the family.”

He was hospitalised in April first week due to severe dehydration but was later said to be stable and responding positively to treatment. Vinod Khanna, who was suffering from advanced bladder carcinoma, breathed his last at 11.20 am. He had starred in more than 100 films in a career spanning over five decades.
Condoling the actor’s demise, the team of Baahubali decided to put off the premiere of the movie’s sequel which was scheduled for Thursday night. Even Amitabh Bachchan cancelled his interviews and left to be with his friend and colleague Vinod Khanna’s family.
His funeral was held at a crematorium in Malabar Hill, Mumbai, which was attended by Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor and Jackie Shroff.
