During the trailer launch of the film, actor Ranveer Singh who will play the central character of Bajirao in the film confessed that Priyanka wanted to opt out of the film. The actor shared the secret saying, “She (Priyanka) did not want to do the film… she had said she wants to go. She said you all are mad. you are doing a second film (with Sanjay Leela Bhansali). But she is a fast learner… and got things quickly.”

The amazing actor Ranveer and marvelous actress Deepika have teamed up with Bhansali in their previous film ‘Ram Leela’. The trio of Ranveer, Deepika and Priyanka will once again be seen together in ‘Bajirao Mastani’.
