One is well aware that Bombay Velvet is Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma‘s movie that was set to release this Christmas.
But somehow the dates did not work out for the movie. Moreover Bombay Velvet did not want to clash with Aamir Khan starrer PK, and now it is confirmed that the movie will be releasing next year i.e. May 15, 2015.
The one to confirm it was none other than Bombay Velvet director Anurag Kashyap. He said that the film based in the 60s scenario needed a lot of marketing, and an exciting marketing plan was crafted for the same, something which will be visible in no matter of time.
If reports are to be believed, the real reason for the delay was the visual effects needed to give the movie Bombay Velvet a 60s look.
Bombay Velvet is also Karan Johar‘s debut movie, and the story is based on the characters of Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar. Others who are also a part of the movie are Vivaan Shah, Raveena Tandon, Siddharth Basu, Kay Kay Menon, Manish Chaudhary and Remo Fernandes amongst others.
Ranbir Kapoor early this year held a wrap-up bash for the movie (Ranbir Kapoor At Film Bombay Velvet Wrap-Up Party). Also, we had earlier reported that Karan Johar was not the first choice for Bombay Velvet (Karan Johar Was Not First Choice For ‘Bombay Velvet’), but infact Vivaan‘s father Naseruddin Shah was supposed to play the Parsi journalist now Karan Johar plays in the movie.
So the movie, extensively shot in Sri Lanka with the 60s look, will now be screened at theatres on May 15 next year. Until then we wait till Anurag Kashyap fulfills his promise of revealing his exciting marketing strategy towards promoting the movie.
Well, until its’ release, we really hope Bombay Velvet does extremely well at the box office and wish all the actors and Team Bombay Velvet lots of success.
