Padmavati

Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor, and Deepika Padukone starrer Padmavati’s release date has been reportedly postponed.

Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama Padmavati is a talk of the town ever since the film was announced. From it’s casting to controversy regarding the love scenes in the film, Padmavati has grabbed all the limelight even before the film went on floors. By now it’s known to all, Padmavati starring Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, and Ranveer Singh is slated to release this year in November. However, there is a bad news for the people who have been eagerly waiting to catch the film in the theatre.

Reportedly, the release date of the film, which was slated to hit screens this November, has been shifted to next year. Though there is no official confirmation regarding the same, it is said that the makers are planning to schedule the release of the film as planned despite severing setbacks.

The controversy against the film started after the members of a Rajput group, Karni Sena, protested against Padmavati for alleging distorting historical facts by the filmmaker. The shooting of the film was stopped in Jaigarh fort, which had triggered outrage in the film industry.

After Jaipur attack, Bhansali shifted the sets of the film to Kolhapur in Maharashtra in order to resume the shooting of the film. Unfortunately, the sets were once again attacked. 40-50 unidentified men tried to vandalize the sets and set it on fire. They even started throwing stones and damaged most of the property. Even the cars parked outside the sets were damaged.

Well, the makers of the film had already made it clear that no romantic scenes between Rani Padmini to be played by Deepika Padukone and 14th-century emperor Alauddin Khilji to be played by Ranveer Singh will be added in the film.

However, Rajput community leaders demanded that the film will be shown to them before the release. Last month, the state minister had made it clear that the film will not be released in Rajasthan till it is shown to the Rajput community leaders.
